Autumn is late on the Findhorn Hinterland this year, because of the unseasonably warm weather that we've had, but the leaves are now starting to change colour like these on a whitebeam tree (Sorbus aria) beside the trunk of a silver birch (Betula pendula) earlier this week.

Yellow stagshorn fungus (Calocera viscosa) on an old stump of a Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) on the Findhorn Hinterland earlier this week.

Here's a group of common puffball fungi (Lycoperdon perlatum) that I found on the Findhorn Hinterland a couple of days ago. They have a beautiful net-like pattern of white circles where the spines that formerly covered their entire surface have been falling away.
