Description

Forests Forever perpetual calendar and its accompanying slipcase

Forests Forever is a perpetual calendar – good for every year – that has been designed for anyone who appreciates trees and forests. It features a different photograph for every day of the year, illustrating the beauty and diversity of trees from more than 45 countries around the world, and covering all the main forest ecosystems on the planet, from tropical rainforests to desert palms, and from mangroves to rare conifers.

The photographs are combined with inspiring and thoughtful quotes from people who have been touched deeply by Nature (including Wangari Maathai, John Muir, Richard St Barbe Baker, Rabindranath Tagore, Rachel Carson, Hermann Hesse and many others) to create a daily statement about the importance of forests that is both compelling and contemplative.

Forests Forever perpetual calendar

At a time of accelerating deforestation there is an urgent need to ensure that natural forests are protected and restored for the long term on the planet. By providing a daily source of inspiration, this calendar is intended to help stimulate the positive actions that will ensure that there are indeed forests forever in our world.

The calendar measures 120  x  145 mm, is produced to a very high quality standard and comes with an elegant protective slipcase. Drawing on over 40 years of photographing the world’s forests, the creation of this calendar has been a labour of love and it makes an ideal gift for anyone who cares about trees and forests, and their future on the planet.

I’m delighted with this desk calendar – neat and not too obtrusive, and reusable! I love the variety of photos, taking you all over the world, and the thought-provoking quotations for each day.

Dear Alan, thank you for producing this wonderful calendar. Besides being “perpetual” – meaning it will still work long after this year has passed – it contains a wealth of photographs and quotes to inspire and remind us of the importance of preserving and protecting forests, also in perpetuity. Thank you, Alan, for everything you do!

This is a really lovely calendar. The photos are beautiful and the daily quotes are inspirational. I love the idea of a perpetual calendar which I can continue to use indefinitely. A good size, big enough to enjoy the photos, yet small enough to fit any size desk. Excellent quality!

I bought several Forests Forever perpetual calendars as gifts for my clients who were delighted with them. The photographs are stunning and the quotes are little jewels of wisdom, bringing a ray of hope and tree wisdom on a daily basis. I will be purchasing more of these calendars as gifts and this time around will remember to buy one for me! Thank you Alan for a wonderfully compiled and well thought out calendar which will contine to inspire, educate and more importantly, last forever. 🙏🌳

This calendar is a wonderful idea, it provides a daily dose of trees and wisdom that is so important in these times. Alan has chosen a fascinating range of trees and environments from around the globe, some I knew well but others were unknown to me. Each day a new image inspires me and prompts me to learn more about the trees that share our planet.

What a great gift to oneself and others! The photos are amazing and the quotes are so fitting and well chosen. This calendar is a real work of love! So now I’m reminded every day how important all those incredible trees are for humankind and at the same time inspired and humbled. Thank you Alan for this gift to all of us 🙏

This is a beautiful desk calendar. Each day a new photograph and inspirational quote from a great author, poet or sage. The photographs are all Alan’s and are all expertly taken with a good eye to content, detail and composition. This is a desk calendar that will last forever, just as we hope our forests do. The only problem I have now is deciding who I give it to. I want to give it as an inspirational gift but also want to keep it. Looks like I’ll have to just get another!

I received my Forests Forever perpetual calendar from Alan this week and I am very pleased with this very useful desk calendar, being perpetual the calendar helps to reduce annual waste. I love the range of pictures and the little paragraphs of text on each new day. The calendar comes spiral bound and in a hard wearing slip case, which is again covered in great photos of forests. This is an excellent item and would make a great Christmas gift.

Did you know that more than 50,000 woolly mammoth teeth have been dredged from the bed of the North Sea? And Doggerland was just one portion of the mammoth super highway. Photo: Mercury Press & Media #IceAgeEcosystems

While the headline uses the word 'populations' to describe fish, the article itself still uses the word 'stocks', which implies that fish are just a commodity for humans to exploit. Fish are free-living wild animals, not some stock item in a supermarket.

Maybe this can be a first step in finally acknowledging the wisdom & rights of native peoples, in the USA & other countries. "It aligns Indigenous environmental knowledge with presidential priorities that benefit everyone,” said Faith Spotted Eagle.
