Description

Caledonian Forest Engagement Diary 2021

This is a high quality desk diary for 2021, featuring a beautiful photograph from the Caledonian Forest in the Highlands of Scotland for every week of the year. The images depict a wide range of subjects, from the classic old Scots pines and winter landscapes in sites such as Glen Affric, Glen Strathfarrar and the Cairngorms National Park,  to intimate details of the forest, including birds, flowers, insects and fungi.

Each page provides plenty of space to write in daily appointments, and the diary also features a wealth of notable information, including bank holidays, the times of the full and new moons, and internationally-significant dates such as World Environment Day.

The diary measures 149 x 213 mm.

A really beautiful diary with amazing photographs. Am so thrilled to be able to get an A5 Engagement Diary once again. Shall have one very thrilled Canadian niece – we used to send her one every year until they stopped. Now to treat me to one! Well done Alan and every success with your independent venture.

A fantastic diary, filled with Alan’s amazing photography of the Caledonian Forest. Very inspirational and recommend to anyone who loves trees and nature in general.

I have been using Alan’s superb A5 diaries with tree related inspiring photographs since 2002. Until 2011 the photographs were from forests around the world, now available in Alan’s Forests Forever Calendar. From 2012 the Trees for Life Diary had illustrations from the Caledonian Forest, the focus area for this Conservation Charity. Alan continues to visit and photograph the inspiring Caledonian Forest and now publishes the diary independently. I don’t live locally so the photographs in the diary and Alan’s blogs keep me connected. I look forward each year to logging my own journey in company with the trees.

Even if there were no other valid & compelling reasons for Scotland to become independent, this alone would be sufficient cause. Additional nuclear weapons being installed in Scotland without public knowledge or consent is an outrage against democracy.

The Ferret@FerretScot

In 2018 @NukewatchUK estimated three new #nuclear warheads arrived at Coulport on the Clyde. Then nine in 2019, and 13 in 2020.

From Siberia to the Amazon & Borneo, forest fires are a major cause of the biodiversity crisis, often for agriculture. "in India most of such fires are deliberately caused by people mainly for agricultural purposes" We need planet-friendly agriculture! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-56671148

This is an excellent article about @royhdennis in the Guardian today. I've known Roy for many years & he's one of those rare people who just gets on & does inspiring, positive work for nature, not letting bureaucracies & mainstream inertia stop him. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/apr/16/conservation-legend-roy-dennis-were-facing-an-ecological-crisis-but-its-exciting-too
